In 1840…
Mr. Lucien LAULHÈRE established his enterprise, which made classical berets in the traditional Basque fashion. It was not until the early 20th century that LAULHÈRE began producing fine millinery on an industrial scale.
During the 60's…
after a significant decline of the classical beret market, the company diversified its product line and began producing military berets and caps.
During the 70's…
the company began manufacturing angora hats for ladies.
In August of 1990…
the BEATEX company was created.
In 1996…
the BEATEX company acquired the BEIGHAU company and kept its brand notably for the traditional beret, but its products range was limited.
In 2008…
BEATEX PROD SARL bought out the company.
In 2010…
LAULHÈRE US LTD is being created to represent the LAULHÈRE products in the USA.


With its preferred materials being wool and angora, BEATEX PROD manufactures knitted woolen velour and angora "rabbit hairs" knits. BEATEX PROD also tailors these materials into finished products such as hats, gloves and scarves under the brand LAULHÈRE. BEATEX PROD remains the only French millinery creating fashionable hats and military berets from yarn to the final product.
